Inspiration from Australia

1. Broadbeach Australia, 2. Tambourine Mountain, 3. DSC02334, 4. DSC02319, 5. Australia Zoo, 6. Koala Pine Sanctuary, 7. Koala Pine Sanctuary, 8. Sydney Sailing Regatta, 9. Sydney Harbour

I always wanted to make a painting of the surfers on Broadbeach. The picture was cruddy because of the low light and wind so there is lots of interference. I like all the brightly colored surf boards. They were performing exercises for lifeguard training. Something to that effect. At the Kurrawa Surf Club. I finally caught a koala bear looking right at me instead of slowing moving up and around the branches munching on eucalyptus trees. Australia. My favorite place.

Gloomy Weather

It has been raining non-stop for three days here in the desert. Grey skies and the sound of water flowing off of the roofs. Blustery winds shaking the old windows. I don't see any puddles on the ceiling so it looks like they sealed this place pretty good. The building I am living in was originally built in 1937. I think it was an elementary school. It was added onto the main building which was originally built in 1919 when the mines in Ajo where thriving. It was renovated and turned into live-work spaces for artisans of all types. It rains so rarely in Arizona that I remember a newscaster once made the camera zoom into a raindrop on the windshield of a car just to prove to everyone it had actually rained minutes before.

A picture of an abandoned hotel? I am not sure. I have to investigate this place because I think the front is finished. I know there is a Hotel Cornelia somewhere. It looks dreary and abandoned from this angle.
